Assistant Dean, Alumni & External Relations
Justine Schaffner is the assistant dean of alumni and external relations for Georgetown McDonough. In this capacity, Justine is responsible for the strategic planning, direction, and overall implementation of all aspects of building and engaging Georgetown McDonough alumni and other external stakeholders through alumni, corporate, foundation, and external relations. Prior to joining Georgetown, Justine served as the Executive Director of Development and Corporate Relations for the Computing and Information Science (CIS) department at Cornell University and the Senior Director of the Cornell Entrepreneur Network (CEN). Before entering the world of academia, Justine spent ten successful years in the technology industry, culminating in her role as the vice president of alliance management and partnership development for Appliant Technologies. Prior to working in Seattle for a .com startup, Justine managed the northeast regional solution provider network for Microsoft, covering New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Justine got her start in the technology industry while working in marketing for IBM and Ziff Davis.
John “Drew” Petrushka (MA’14, MBA’20),
Program Manager, Alumni & External Relations
John “Drew” Petrushka brings several years of experience in the private, non-profit, and media sectors to Georgetown McDonough. He conducts strategy implementation and internal management of the alumni and external relations program. He has played a key role in deepening the school’s connections to corporations, embassies, think tanks, and non-profit organizations while helping to double the number of alumni engagements hosted, sponsored, or promoted by the school. Drew earned an M.A. in Asian Studies as well as an International Business Diplomacy Honors Certificate from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service in 2014, and currently is enrolled in Georgetown McDonough’s MBA program.
