M.S. in Environment and Sustainability Management – Greece

The M.S. in Environment and Sustainability Management – Greece (ESM–G) blends environmental science with core business disciplines to help graduates make the business case for sustainability. This innovative program is jointly delivered in Athens by Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and Earth Commons Institute. This 10-month program adapts the successful ESM offering in the United States to the region, developing leaders who can address sustainability issues and create value for organizations around the world.

Educating Leaders to Advance Greece and the Region’s Energy Future

In collaboration with PPC, a leading Powertech Group in Southeast Europe, the ESM–G program supports the development of future global business leaders who understand the importance of sustainability within a corporate environment. Through its affiliation with Georgetown’s business school, this program is AACSB accredited.

The curriculum draws on Georgetown’s established Master’s in Environment and Sustainability Management program, covering a range of science and business topics critical to achieving sustainability goals across Greece and the broader region. Over 10 months of study, participants gain an integrated understanding of scientific knowledge with business skills to prepare students to create a more sustainable world.

Structured for working professionals, the program is delivered through 10 intensive modules. Nine modules are taught in Athens once a month on Thursday through Sunday, complemented by a culminating residency and commencement ceremony at Georgetown’s campus in Washington, D.C. This design allows participants to engage deeply with the curriculum while continuing to meet professional responsibilities, and to develop a leadership perspective that is both locally grounded and globally informed.
