A cutting-edge master’s degree program uniquely customized for graduates of the Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC), the Executive Master’s in Leadership – Qatar (EML-Q) program prepares and develops future business leaders who wish to address important issues facing the future of their country. Graduates have a broad appreciation for the challenges and opportunities facing business and society today.
To support the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030, QLC and Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business have created EML-Q. The *AACSB-accredited degree program is offered exclusively for graduates of QLC’s Executive and Rising Leaders programs as well as other approved QLC programs and prepares students at all levels of government and industry to meet the challenges of rapid change and innovation.
The curriculum builds upon the foundation of previous QLC studies and the strength of Georgetown’s decades-old Executive Master’s in Leadership program. At the end of 10 months of study, EML-Q graduates receive a master’s degree that is recognized throughout the world.
Because program participants are working professionals, the program is offered through a series of 10 intensive modules that allow for in-depth learning while balancing other professional and personal commitments. The modules take students along a journey focusing on addressing the future development of Qatar from three perspectives: local, regional, and global.

Students will primarily study in Doha, but also will engage in an international residency in Washington, D.C. The weeklong residency provides a behind-the-scenes view of the intersection of U.S. business and government. The residency includes a mix of classroom lectures; site visits throughout the city to locations like the United States Congress, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce; and interactive panel discussions with experts in healthcare, tourism, energy and sustainability, foreign policy, and finance and capital markets.
All students graduate with a Personal Leadership Action Plan, where they articulate their leadership aspirations and goals. Students will work with faculty advisors to create a roadmap for their continued growth and success, based upon their personal purpose, goals, values, assets, and constraints.
Students also complete a team-based Capstone Project while in the program consisting of the preparation and completion of a master’s paper. The project provides an opportunity for students to both personalize the EML-Q program to their interests as it relates to Qatar’s National interest for leadership and growth, and to engage in the scientific research process guided by a mentor. Each project is based on leadership and strategy-focused consulting projects important to Qatar’s long-term development and implementation of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
