Master of Science in Global Finance

The blended online M.S. in Global Finance (MGF) is a new model for world-class business education designed for working professionals at leading firms in India who wish to attain a degree from a renowned U.S. university without the need to leave their job or India for a full-time program. The program blends the best qualities of a top in-person degree with the flexibility provided by proven technology to attract outstanding students committed to academic excellence, global engagement, principled leadership, and career advancement.

The MGF team works directly with partner firms throughout India who seek to train and retain valuable employees. The attainment of this goal begins with the partner inviting select employees to attend a firm-specific information session(s) where the MGF team explains the program’s vision, curriculum, admission standards, the value of the Georgetown alumni network, and the carefully documented career success statistics and detailed examples from a closely related online graduate program in finance at Georgetown McDonough. Employees then apply directly to the program and must meet our admission standards.

Besides enhancing their employee training and retention efforts, partners also have the opportunity to propose firm-specific content (e.g., mini-cases, homework problems) and customized electives to make the curriculum even more directly related to the challenges and opportunities the firm faces. Partners also can enhance an employee’s chances of gaining admission to the program by nominating or recommending the employee.

Beyond promoting firm-specific information session(s), partners are encouraged to provide tuition support—which can greatly help with employee retention—and promote related benefits. Employees are directly responsible for the program’s tuition after any support the firm provides. The program also will offer limited scholarships.
