Georgetown MBA Class of 1994 Establishes Scholarship to Celebrate Three Decades of Fellowship

A group of alumni recently raised more than $100,000 to establish the MBA Class of 1994 Endowed MBA Scholarship Fund to support the advancement of Full-time MBA students at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business. The Class of 1994 was the first to commit to establishing a scholarship fund.

“This gift not only enables financial support to students, but creates lasting legacies that enhance our MBA community and the broader business world,” said Sudipta Dasmohapatra, senior associate dean of MBA programs. “We are grateful for the alumni from the Class of 1994 who made this gift possible. Their fundraising efforts create a cycle of giving and mentorship that will benefit future generations of MBA students for years to come.”

As the Class of 1994 commemorates 31 years since graduation, their scholarship fund reflects the shared experience and lifelong connections formed in the Georgetown MBA program. The scholarship holds a sentimental value to this class, as it was inspired by the unexpected passing of Eric Saucedo (MBA’94), class president and a beloved classmate.

“Eric was instrumental in keeping our class connected after graduation and organized several of our reunions,” said Sandeep Vishnu (MBA’94), member of Georgetown McDonough’s MBA Alumni Advisory Council. “There is probably no better way to honor him than by continuing to stay connected and committed to each other and the program – this scholarship reflects that sentiment.”
