Georgetown’s 2023 MiM Graduates Find Career Success
The Master of Science in Management (MiM) Class of 2023 achieved strong career outcomes in their post-graduate roles, earning an average base salary of $80,294 and an average signing bonus of $6,292.
According to the 2023 MiM Employment Report, 93% of students received their job offer within six months of graduation and 89% accepted their offer. The top employers included Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Heidrick & Struggles, Kraft Heinz, World Bank, and World Wide Technology.
“We are proud of the Class of 2023 for remaining steadfast in their goals and securing impactful roles across a wide range of industries,” said Evelyn Williams, academic director of the MiM program. “With a combination of management, innovation, and STEM-designated coursework, our MiM program equips students with the tools and expertise that employers value. We were pleased to see so many of our students enter careers focused on social impact and nonprofit, which is a testament to our Jesuit values and focus on serving the common good.”
The top industry for MiM students was consulting at 29%, followed closely by financial services (23%) and social impact and nonprofit (14%). Students also pursued a range of positions in technology (8%), manufacturing and transportation (5%), and healthcare (4%).
Top Industries for MiM Students
The diverse range of industries is also reflected in the makeup of the Class of 2023. The graduating cohort of 96 students represents 53% women, 33% underrepresented minorities, and 43% international students across 25 countries. With an average age of 23 and just over half a year of work experience, students also come from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds both in business and other liberal arts and STEM-related fields, which further strengthens their learning experience as a cohort and creates new pathways for career opportunities. Among the cohort, students previously studied liberal arts, humanities, or social sciences (39%), business or finance (29%), STEM (18%), and economics (14%).
Designed for those who recently earned a bachelor’s degree, the MiM degree is a 10-month, full-time, STEM-designated program that helps rising professionals develop the business, management, and technology skills necessary to succeed in a variety of industries. In addition to real-world coursework such as the signature Global Business Experience course and ongoing career treks, students also benefit from a dedicated career services team that provides one-on-one career coaching, career workshops, curriculum, networking opportunities, and access to Georgetown’s worldwide network of alumni.
“The MiM career team supports students at every phase of their career journey as they discover their interests, build their holistic career strategy, and grow as a principled leader in business,” said Karen Kouagou, director of career services for the MiM program. “Each student’s career pathway is unique, and we are committed to offering whole-person support and guidance to help them realize their full potential. These outcomes are a testament to the extraordinary Class of 2023 who leveraged these resources, remained focused on their professional pursuits, and achieved extraordinary outcomes after graduation.”
