Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative Fosters Entrepreneurial Ventures for Students and Alumni

The Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business is hosting 12 entrepreneurial ventures this summer in its startup incubator program.

Now in its eighth year, the eight-week program is designed specifically for current Georgetown students and recent graduates who want to launch a new venture. The students and alumni receive dedicated support from Georgetown faculty, mentors, and other experienced entrepreneurs; work space in the business school’s Rafik B. Hariri Building on the Georgetown campus; membership in the Georgetown Venture Lab sponsored by the Leonsis Family located at WeWork White House; a stipend to support their efforts; introductions to local investors and entrepreneurs; invitations to exclusive networking events; and the opportunity to present their ideas to the D.C. entrepreneurial community.

This year’s companies include:

Al Sur Latin Kitchen and Catering LLC: Al Sur Latin Kitchen and Catering makes m’panadas, which are a wholesome and dish-ready from freezer to table in minutes. They are perfect for people on-the-go. m’panadas fit right in your hand and make no mess. It is led by Maria Margarita Womack (EMBA’19).

A Squared: A Squared is a process design and business management company that partners with entrepreneurs at capacity to implement the infrastructure their business needs in order to run efficiently and effectively. It is led by Ashlee Berghoff (MBA’18).

Bluprint: Bluprint is a mobile app platform that provides the fastest, most intuitive way to discover music from both emerging and established artists. It is led by John Rader (B’18).

Credit/Ability: Credit/Ability is a building platform that support refugees and migrants in accessing housing. It is led by Jake Glass (F’20) and Yanchen (Frank) Wang (G’19).

Dynos: Dynos is a mobile food ordering platform that offers dynamic discounts. The company’s target partners are fast-casual restaurants in high-density areas. Its target users are anyone who loves either saving money or ordering ahead for convenience. It is led by Aaron Rutter (C’20) and Sahaj Sharda (F’20).

foublie: foublie connects families and expectant parents to nutrition experts and information on demand. It is led by Melissa Antal (MBA’19).

GiftLove: GiftLove is a online marketplace where consumers can explore an inventory of multiple products from local small businesses, mom and pop shops, and freelancers with same day local pickup. Our target consumers are 18-38 year-old consumers, specifically focusing on procrastinators. It is led by Hadeel Shadid (B’19).

Graham Kitchenware: Graham Kitchenware is a multi-channel foodware company bringing a fresh, user-centric perspective to the tired kitchenware industry for upper income millennials. Our first product re-thinks how people bring their meals on-the-go with an “Instagram worthy,” leak-proof, ceramic food container that combines both fashion and function. It is led by Catherine Colwell (MBA’19).

Shyft Marketing: Shyft Marketing is a full-service social media and digital marketing agency dedicated to providing small to mid-size businesses with profitable marketing services. We attract and retain high-quality leads and customers for our clients through social selling and funnel marketing. It is led by Evan Wall (B‘20).

SmallTalk: SmallTalk is a youth motivational speakers bureau. Its social mission is to pair college-age motivational speakers with youth organizations and schools across the country. It is led by Jerome Small (B’19).

StoresAi: StoresAi is helping small to medium enterprise sized retailers blur the boundaries between the online and offline shopping experience, while leveraging the store’s base as a competitive advantage. By using predictive analytics and utilizing big data, we uncover hidden “hot” leads and convert them to sales with highly-targeted marketing offers. It is led by Ron Cohen (MBA’19).

Truckster: Truckster is a mobile application that connects customers with their favorite local food trucks. Our app allows customers to have a more convenient and highly reliable food truck experience through a mobile ordering service that allows customers to order on-the-go, provide ratings and discover more popular food trucks. It is led by Hannah Williams (B’19).
