Faculty Receive Management Science Service Awards

John Cui and Safak Yucel, assistant professors of operations and information management, each received a 2017 Management Science Meritorious Service Award for their service to the journal.

The award recognizes those who have offered exceptional service in the manuscript evaluation process. Management Science is a peer-reviewed academic journal that covers research on all aspects of management related to strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation, information technology, and organizations as well as functional areas of business, such as accounting, finance, marketing, and operations.

Serving as a reviewer for the journal “forces you to stay the forefront of the field through exposure to the newest research,” Cui said.

Yucel’s research interests include capacity investment in electricity and energy supply chains, energy-related operations, and socially responsible supply chain management. Cui is interested in operations management, specifically modeling strategic consumers in service settings, queueing games, product development, and global supply chain management.
