Summer Internship Spotlight: Matt Allgeier (MBA’19), Tesla
Each year, our students spend their summers in Washington, D.C., across the nation, and around the world working in corporate, nonprofit, and government organizations. This month, we’re featuring Full-time MBA students with particularly interesting summer internships.
Matt Allgeier (MBA’19)
Global Supply Management, Tesla
Fremont, California
What are you doing this summer?
My summer project is to identify inefficiencies and hidden costs within our procurement process, recommend an alternative structure, and launch a pilot program that’s scalable company wide.
How does Tesla relate to your professional or personal interests?
Tesla is an organization that allows its employees to identify pain points and opportunities and rapidly implement solutions and ideas. From this perspective, Tesla relates quite well to the impact I want to have in my professional career.
How did you find the internship?
I connected with a fellow McDonough student who had recently completed his summer internship at Tesla. Without McDonough I don’t think the opportunity would have been made possible.
What’s the coolest thing you’ve done so far this summer?
Directly supporting the ramp up to 5000 Model 3 units a week. Hands down.
