We spoke with Ziwei Cong, assistant professor of marketing, about what she hopes to accomplish at Georgetown through her engagement with students, research, classroom teachings, and beyond.
What are you most looking forward to when it comes to working at Georgetown McDonough?
I look forward to working with excellent faculty members at Georgetown McDonough.
What institution or previous line of work are you coming from?
Before joining Georgetown, I was a Ph.D. candidate at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
What is your area(s) of expertise and which subject(s) are you most passionate about?
My research areas are digital marketing, content economy, causal inference, and machine learning. The subjects I am most passionate about include data/business analytics, photography, and history.
What is your favorite quote and why?
My favorite quote is “It’s possible to go on, no matter how impossible it seems.” This sentence gives me strength and inspiration to think big and overcome challenges.
What is your favorite podcast or book and why?
One of my favorite books is Decisive Moments in History by Stefan Zweig. I enjoy the art of language by Zweig and find positive inspiration in this book.
How would you describe yourself in a few words?
I am a dedicated and self-motived researcher and an easy-going and genuine person in life.
What do you hope to ultimately bring to the McDonough community?
I’m interested in big data analytics and machine learning. I hope that my interest in these domains will enrich the research conducted by the McDonough community.
