Reena Aggarwal Appointed to Biden-Harris Transition Team

Reena Aggarwal, Robert E. McDonough Professor of Finance and director, Center for Financial Markets and Policy, is serving on the  Biden-Harris Transition Agency Review Team on The Federal Reserve, Banking, and Securities Regulators as a volunteer.

In this role, Aggarwal is part of a team responsible for understanding the operations of each agency, ensuring a smooth transfer of power and preparing the new administration’s cabinet to begin their work immediately after taking office. Individuals selected for transition teams are known as highly experienced and talented professionals with deep backgrounds in crucial policy areas across the federal government.

The Federal Reserve, Banking, and Securities Regulators group includes the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Federal Reserve, the National Credit Union Administration, and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

“Throughout her time at Georgetown, Reena has prepared so many of our students to address the world’s challenges in global business and finance,” said Paul Almeida, dean and William R. Berkeley Chair. “Her research on financial regulation, corporate governance, global financial markets, initial public offerings, fintech, environmental, social, and governance (ESG), and more has made her a sought-after scholar and expert in the finance world. I am proud that she represents our Georgetown McDonough spirit as she applies her deep knowledge and intellect in a way that will impact our country for years to come.”
Under her leadership, the school’s Center for Financial Markets and Policy regularly connects global policymakers to the latest financial research and offers a space for dialogue about challenges and opportunities in the financial sector, such as the center’s annual Financial Markets Quality conference. The center also engages students in real-world research.
