Sinclair Honored with 40 Under Forty Award for Accounting

James Sinclair, a visiting assistant professor of accounting at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, was honored by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA) and the Consultants’ Training Institute (CTI) in their annual 40 Under Forty recognition program.

The program showcases individuals under the age of 40 who have made extraordinary advances in one or more of the following current or related fields: business valuation, financial forensics, litigation consulting, expert witness, mergers and acquisitions, exit planning, and healthcare valuation. Sinclair was recognized for extraordinary advances in business valuation.

“The 40 Under Forty recognition program was designed to give voice and opportunity to the next generation of industry mavericks recognizing their contributions to the profession, their communities, and their contributions yet to come,” said Brien K. Jones, CEO and executive vice president for NACVA and the CTI.

Sinclair, who teaches in the areas of economics, behavioral finance, and business valuation, is a visiting professor from the University of Connecticut where he served as a faculty member for several years. Outside of the classroom, Dr. Sinclair has worked as an analyst and managerial accountant for the New York Daily News and continues to maintain an active research portfolio focused on valuation, capital markets, and behavioral finance. He holds a Ph.D. in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from the Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business.
