Professor Ülkü’s research explores AI integration in processes; interactions between product architecture and sourcing decisions; the environmental implications of product architecture; outsourcing and decision rights in supply chains; human behavior in service systems; the impact of resource constraints on innovation and entrepreneurship; the “last mile” of circular economy; and operational value creation in private equity. His research has been published in journals including Operations Research, Management Science, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management.
He teaches courses on Innovation and Operations. He has led the Global Business Experience in Istanbul, Berlin, Lima, Madrid, and Dubai. He is a recipient of the Joseph F. Lemoine Award for Undergraduate and Graduate Teaching Excellence and the Entrepreneurship Faculty Excellence Award.
Through executive programs, as well as research and consulting projects, Sezer has collaborated with many firms including SAP, Volkswagen Group, Skoda, Siemens, HelloFresh, Zalando, The Carlyle Group, Mubadala, Turkven, General Electric, FedEx, TAV, DP World, Turkish Airlines, SK Group, Lucent Technologies, Mastercard, International Finance Corporation, Doğuş Holding, Garanti Bankasi, TEB, Mavi Jeans, Turkcell, Turk Telekom, Vodafone, Acıbadem Medical Group, Arçelik, Yıldız Holding, Yemek Sepeti and Baydöner.
Professor Ülkü received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Management from INSEAD. Previously, he received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University, where he specialized in telecommunications and signal processing.
