Shye Gilad

Shye Gilad is Professor of the Practice at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. His teaching focus is on entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and communications in the Management Area. An entrepreneur and aviation executive, he co-founded ProJet Aviation, an aircraft management, on-demand charter airline, and flight-support company, and served as CEO for 17 years, leading multiple FAA certifications, acquisitions, and divestitures, including sales of the flight-support operations and charter/management portfolios. A former airline captain with more than a decade of line-operations and flight-training experience, Gilad brings real-world leadership, decision-making, and risk-management practices to the classroom. His teaching integrates case studies, simulations, and AI-assisted exercises while emphasizing evidence-based frameworks for scaling businesses without sacrificing culture or quality.
