The New Home of the McDonough School of Business

The new home of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business provides an environment for teaching, learning, interaction, and collaboration for students, faculty, and staff. The building’s modern design is a symbol for the school’s forward-thinking, world-class curriculum, while the stone façade replicates the look and feel of Georgetown’s historic Healy Hall.

Size: 179,000 gross square feet in five stories and a two-level
parking garage

Classrooms:  15 classrooms, including eight case-style rooms, five tiered lecture rooms, and two flat-floor rooms

Collaboration:  34 breakout rooms, complete with data ports, flat-screen video monitors, and white boards, with additional breakout rooms in the Technology Center to support educational projects

Students:  Undergraduate student common area on first floor; graduate student common area on third floor; locker rooms for graduate students

Faculty:  120 faculty offices, providing space for new faculty hires

Meetings:  11 interview rooms in the MBA Career Management Office, plus 15 conference rooms throughout the building that can hold up to 30 people each

Auditorium:  400-seat, broadcast-ready auditorium

Layout:  The building’s design groups undergraduate education space on the first floor, MBA space on the second and third floors, executive education programs on the fourth floor, and faculty offices on the fifth floor.

Cost:  $82.5 million, funded entirely through philanthropic support
