IBP Admissions & Financing

The IBP tuition for the January 2026 intake is $81,840. The tuition fee includes tuition, specified meals during modules, accommodations at international residencies, international travel insurance, and course materials.

Tuition fees exclude on-campus parking, individual health care or health insurance premiums, round-trip airfare to and from international module locations, accommodations for Washington D.C., modules, visas, and incidental expenses while traveling. The Office of Billing and Payment Services provides additional information regarding tuition breakdown and student fees through the university.

Georgetown University has resources to help students identify options for financing their education. U.S. citizens and permanent residents should contact the Office of Student Financial Services for information on financing.

In an effort to remove financial barriers for veterans seeking a degree at the McDonough School of Business and to honor the brave men and women who serve our nation, Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business will expand scholarships of the Yellow Ribbon Program (YRP), effective August 1, 2023.

Under this new financial agreement, the business school will increase its YRP maximums from $16,000, to $20,000 per student annually for those who qualify. There is no limit on the number of recipients eligible for this program.

To qualify for the Yellow Ribbon Program, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) specifies that participants must be 100% eligible for Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits, be enrolled in a degree-seeking program, have enough 9/11 entitlement to span the entire program, and accrue a total tuition and fees amount that is more than the Post-9/11 tuition maximum for an academic year. The Yellow Ribbon Program changes at Georgetown’s School of Business will become effective August 1, 2023, for incoming and current students once VA approves the application, which should occur no later than June 30, 2023.

If eligible, once approved by the VA, tuition and mandatory fees charged to all students is estimated to be paid in full for the Master of Arts in International Business and Policy.

Georgetown University offers scholarships for IBP program students, based on merit. To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must complete the scholarship essay with their applications. The Office of Admissions notifies students of scholarship awards at the time of admission to the program.

Factors that may be considered include a student’s socioeconomic, cultural, and/or family background, personal experiences and challenges, and/or demonstrated ability to develop and support diversity of perspectives and cultural understanding. These awards take into account an applicant’s academic, personal, and professional accomplishments and community engagement. To be considered for this scholarship, you should complete the optional Diversity Essay. The funding of these scholarships is limited, as such, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible for consideration.

In support of Georgetown University’s decision to offer professional development opportunities to current and former federal civil employees and federal contractors, we will offer a 10% merit-based scholarship on the base tuition to current or recently separated federal civil government employees for the January 2026 incoming intake.

Current and past federal employees and contractors are also eligible for an application fee waiver. This will automatically apply at the final submission to qualified applicants that indicate their industry within their IBP application. The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award is a post-service benefit earned by individuals who complete an approved term of national service in an AmeriCorps program. Georgetown University McDonough School of Business is proud to be an education partner with the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award.

Applicants to the Executive MBA (EMBA), Master of Science in Management (MiM), Master of Science in Global Real Assets (MS-GRA), and Master of Arts in International Business & Policy (IBP) applying to start in fall 2024 and beyond will receive an application fee waiver. Please reach out to the general email address for the program to request the waiver. EMBA, MiM, MS-GRA, and IBP students who are awarded the AmeriCorps Education Award can be considered to receive a minimum of $5,000 total as a one-time only award. Georgetown McDonough anticipates being able to award 1-3 total scholarships per year based on the strength of the applicant pool.
