Fortune Ranks Georgetown 6th in the Nation for Online M.S. in Business Analytics Degrees
The Georgetown McDonough M.S. in Business Analytics (MSBA) program was recognized as the sixth-best program in the nation by the 2023 Fortune Education Best Online Master’s in Business Analytics Programs. Fortune launched the online business analytics ranking in 2022 as a response to the rising demand for business analytics and data-savvy professionals in business.
“Georgeown’s MSBA program equips graduates to solve complex, real-world problems through the use of emerging technologies and data analytics systems,” said Babak Zafari, acting academic director of the MSBA program at Georgetown McDonough. “Our students are both prepared for the future of the industry while also viewing data through a Jesuit lens – making them uniquely prepared to lead change and use data in a way that adds value to both business and society.”
The MSBA is a premier program designed specifically for technology-enhanced learning, characterized by close-knit cohorts, a dedicated career services team, and flexibility for working professionals seeking to balance their education with work and personal commitments. The 16-month program includes a combination of synchronous and asynchronous coursework with two campus-based residencies that provide integrated, hands-on activities, as well as collaborations with industry leaders like Microsoft and Amazon Web Services.
The curriculum integrates the technical aspects of data analytics with managerial business functions, with students learning to “speak the language of data.” Students learn from expert faculty who provide foundational skills in accounting, finance, economics, marketing, and operations through both research-based and applied solutions to real business problems.
Fortune produces the online master’s degree programs in business analytics ranking through a survey of business schools and a brand survey of 2,500 business professionals across the country. Programs are evaluated on the following criteria: strength of the incoming class and selectivity, program demand, and brand perception from potential employers and business professionals.
