Georgetown Entrepreneurship Announces 2023-2024 Entrepreneurs-in-Residence

Georgetown Entrepreneurship, which serves all of Georgetown University from the McDonough School of Business, has announced its 13th annual cohort of entrepreneurs-in-residence (EIR). EIRs provide expertise, advice, mentoring, coaching, and other assistance to students, faculty, alumni, and administrators.

As ambassadors for Georgetown University and Georgetown Entrepreneurship, EIRs use their professional networks to help expand the entrepreneurial connections available to the Georgetown community and provide guidance on key initiatives. Undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni across Georgetown University have access to the EIRs as they navigate their own companies and other entrepreneurial aspirations.

The EIR members are available for Chalk Talks, a weekly informal walk-in, in-person entrepreneurship clinic open to all Georgetown students. Participants have the opportunity to speak with the EIRs and with each other about their business ideas, career choices, and other topics. Students and alumni interested in starting their own venture are highly encouraged to attend.

Georgetown Entrepreneurship introduced six new EIRs this year, increasing the total cohort to 33 members. Jessica Bieligk (MBA’12), Jonathan Blanchard (MBA’13), Rose Carter, Christina Kang, Elizabeth Tenety (C’07), and Ken Williams (G’16) are the newest additions to the EIR team, bringing years of experience and expertise in the local and global entrepreneurial ecosystem.

While welcoming six new faces to the EIR cohort, Georgetown Entrepreneurship also recognizes a long-standing EIR who is stepping down this year. Marc Steren, an EIR since 2015 and adjunct faculty member of McDonough School of Business, will focus on his successful and growing startup, University Startups. He has been a longstanding partner of Georgetown Entrepreneurship, teaching in both the Summer Launch Incubator and in the course, Launching Entrepreneurial Ventures. Steren and fellow Georgetown EIR John Jabara co-founded their for-profit social impact company, which focuses on helping three million low income and disadvantaged students get into college and high paying jobs.

“We are grateful to Marc for his ongoing mentorship and support of our entrepreneurship students and programs at Georgetown,” said Jeff Reid, founding director of Georgetown Entrepreneurship. “He has been an invaluable member of our EIR team and we wish him great success with his company, University Startups.”

The New EIRs for 2023-2024 are:

Jessica Bieligk (MBA’12), founder of Suter Lane Group

Jonathan Blanchard (MBA’13), CEO of ETI Precision

Rose Carter, co-founder of Aeternum and Global Wireless Solutions
