The top-ranked M.S. in Business Analytics (MSBA) program at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business is now available in a full-time, in-person format in Washington, D.C.

Expanding upon the success of the part-time online MSBA, the new immersive, on-campus program is designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals who want to accelerate their careers in data-driven business leadership. Additionally, students who begin the full-time program have the flexibility to transition to the online program if their plans change.

The launch of the full-time MSBA underscores Georgetown McDonough’s commitment to analytics, AI, and preparing students for the future of business. The full-time option offers an accelerated, immersive pathway for students to benefit from our renowned analytics curriculum, connect with D.C.’s vibrant professional networks, and draw on the strength of the Georgetown community – ensuring they make an immediate and lasting impact in their careers.”

Delivered at Georgetown’s campus in Washington, D.C., the 10-month, cohort-based program equips students with advanced technical expertise, business strategy insights, and leadership skills to transform data into impactful decisions for any organization. The curriculum integrates the technical aspects of data analytics – machine learning and artificial intelligence, data visualization, and storytelling – with managerial business functions so students learn to “speak the language of data.” Students gain insights from expert faculty who provide foundational skills in finance, economics, marketing, and operations through both research-driven and applied solutions to real business problems.

“AI is no longer an emerging trend — it is a central force reshaping every industry,” said Babak Zafari, academic director of the MSBA program. “By embedding AI and machine learning into the core of our curriculum, we ensure our students graduate with the ability to apply these skills strategically and responsibly to solve complex business challenges and lead organizations into the future.”

Ranked as one of the top two programs in the nation by Fortune, the MSBA is characterized by close-knit cohorts, a dedicated career services team, and experiential learning. Students learn alongside a small class of peers, including an immersive final capstone project to solve a current business analytics problem with a local, national, or global sponsor. They also benefit from industry collaborations with Amazon Web Services for hands-on training and demonstrations in key cloud computing and analytics tools.

MSBA students gain access to the McDonough Career Center and a dedicated career services director to support them with their individual career goals. Students benefit from tailored career assessments, on-demand career workshops, resume and interview support, structured career coaching, and career strategy sessions. They also join a global network of professionals and alumni for ongoing networking and mentorship opportunities. As a result, Georgetown MSBA graduates continue to achieve top career outcomes – the Class of 2024 reported an average base salary of $123,250 and a 30% average salary increase. 70% of the cohort changed jobs after graduation.

“The career outcomes from the 2024 MSBA Employment Report reflect the strong demand for data-driven decision makers and the value that Georgetown MSBA students bring to these industries,” said Christy Murray, associate dean and managing director of the McDonough Career Center. “Whether they’re pursuing new jobs or advancing in their current roles, our graduates are turning their analytics expertise into meaningful, high-impact careers.”

The part-time online MSBA program continues to recruit strong cohorts of students who represent a wide range of industries and fields of study. Of the 74 students in the most recent incoming class, 49% were women and 67% represented U.S. diversity, with an average of five years of professional experience in areas such as consulting, financial services, healthcare, energy and clean tech, and nonprofits, among several others.

The launch of the full-time program increases the reach of the MSBA program to a broader range of students, allowing early career and working professionals to pursue a dynamic business analytics education in the format that works best for their goals.

“Whether students are just launching their careers or balancing studies with professional commitments, Georgetown McDonough now offers a business analytics degree that fits their goals,” said Nita Swinsick, associate dean for graduate and executive degree programs admissions. “Expanding our top-ranked program ensures more students gain access to a cutting-edge analytics education and the opportunity to make an immediate impact in their careers.”

The early application deadline for the full-time MSBA is rolling through Oct. 21, 2025. Learn more about the full-time MSBA.
