The Entrepreneurial Mindset: How a Georgetown MBA Alum Launched an Innovative AI Startup to Support Home Care Facilities
To Andres Brillembourg (MBA’25), entrepreneurship is more than a career – it’s a mindset and skillset applicable to any industry.
“Entrepreneurship is a way of attacking problems, of being creative, resourceful, resilient, always problem-solving, and thinking positively and optimistically that there’s always a solution to a problem,” he said.
After completing his undergraduate degree at Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service, Brillembourg worked for several startups before deciding to pursue an MBA. Ultimately, he chose Georgetown McDonough’s program for its values-based education and community.
“It’s not only about professional success – how much money you make, how far you get in your career – but also what principles you do it with.”
Brillembourg started the Full-time MBA program with a goal to leverage the resources available to develop a business idea and launch it. He was involved with Georgetown Entrepreneurship and took part in the MBA Startup Fellowship, which awards $10,000 to MBA students who choose to work on a startup instead of pursuing a traditional summer internship, and the Georgetown Ventures Fellows program, a unique one-year apprenticeship opportunity with a venture capital or private equity firm.
Additionally, Brillembourg participated in various Rocket Pitch competitions and won the grand prize in the 2025 Bark Tank Pitch Competition for his startup, Hilda. Hilda is an innovative AI recruitment tool that allows home care agencies to hire 10 times faster by reviewing applications, engaging candidates, and booking interviews in minutes. Brillembourg came up with the idea for his company after watching his wife’s grandfather struggle to find reliable home care.

“I realized it is a big problem and many of the systems and technologies used by these agencies are outdated,” he said. “There’s a lot that we can do here with software to help these agencies better manage their workforce, improve recruiting, and improve retention.”
Georgetown McDonough’s MBA program gave Brillembourg the opportunity to strengthen business competencies, like finance, and expand his professional network. Through building his startup, he learned about the importance of being adaptable to unanticipated twists and turns and finding a unique way to present a business idea.
“For every problem, a customer is already using a solution,” he said. “You have to build your solution in a way that not only improves their experience by at least five to 10 times, but is also easy for them to learn how to use.”
Brillembourg was able to accomplish his goal by using the Leonsis Family Entrepreneurship Prize from Bark Tank as the starting capital to hire a founding engineer and launch Hilda. Looking back on his time in the MBA program, Brillembourg encourages current and future students to proactively pursue opportunities that align with their career interests.
“Really try to be independent and introspective about what you want to do,” he said. “Don’t fall into a path just out of inertia because it’s what everyone is doing.”
