Early Start and Summer Career Course
Career Curriculum
Summer Career Course & Deliverables
We have designated a set of deliverables that will prepare you for the important stages in the job search:
- An MBA Career Blueprint that begins defining your post-MBA career path options and networking strategy
- A record of your career accomplishments that will serve as the foundation for your resume and serve as an interview prep guide
- A McDonough-standard MBA resume that will be tailored via coaching throughout your job search
The remainder of the career course covers topics such as personal branding, networking, job search communication, interviewing and recruitment timelines. This content is delivered in a virtual format during the summer prior to the start of fall classes.
Career Coaching
Our team of dedicated, certified career management coaches facilitate your individual career strategy. All incoming full-time students are offered a first coaching conversation in the summer prior to the start of opening term upon the completion of their deliverables. Flex students will begin their career coaching in January of their first year unless they are in immediate need of assistance. Regular coaching appointments, including evening availability, occur throughout the MBA program.
Ongoing Workshops and Curriculum
Students have access to numerous workshops, programs, and alumni speakers to reinforce our content and provide real-time job search situations and feedback. Workshops and programs include our signature career fair & networking bootcamp, several week-long event series designed to maximize outcomes at crucial parts of the year, weekly industry-focused career days in the fall, and more.
