Our Communities

McDonough Community

In the MiM program, we are purposeful about building community. From team activities and cohort gatherings, to McDonough-wide organizations, we help students make connections that will enhance their cocurricular experience. Within the program, students have opportunities to connect with faculty, deans, and alumni in our Leaders-in-Residence program. Students also spearhead our fall service project and get the opportunity to serve our community while honing their marketing and leadership skills.

Outside the program, students have dozens of career, cultural, and social clubs at their fingertips through the Graduate Student Organization. Some of these clubs are housed right here in our MBA program. The MiM community is one that actively helps students to connect with others and form those bonds that will last long past their time at McDonough.

D.C. Community

Located in one of the world’s biggest hubs for business, government, and international relations, students are awarded the opportunity of exposure to some of the most innovative companies Washington, D.C., has to offer. Site visits and meetings with senior leaders at these organizations are frequently interwoven into the Georgetown MiM curriculum to help students discover where the intersection of business and personal calling converge. Students also have access to alumni connections and networking events within these key organizations.

Global Alumni Community

Georgetown was established on the Jesuit principles of equality, respect, and “cura personalis” — care for the whole person — and those same values define the school and our alumni community today. We have a collaborative culture where students, faculty, staff, and alumni look after one another. All MiM students belong to a diverse, distinguished network of 190,000 Georgetown University alumni around the world who share a lifelong bond to the university.

Career Resources

We offer dedicated career services that help you take charge of your career.

Internships

The program schedule is structured so that students interested in taking internships at area institutions may do so.

*Internships are not part of the curriculum and are therefore optional and non-credit bearing. Please note that international students on F1 status cannot participate in paid off-campus internships.
