Shelly Heinrich, Associate Dean, MBA Admissions and Director of Marketing
Heinrich leads the MBA Admissions team in both its marketing and operational strategy to build awareness, recruit, yield, and retain the Full-time and Flex MBA programs. She also develops the integrated marketing strategy for the team and manages the internal marketing team and external marketing firm in its execution.
Heinrich is a senior marketing professional with over 13 years of experience in the higher education, corporate, and nonprofit sectors. Her responsibilities have included marketing, recruitment, business development, event planning, and public relations. With experience in five business schools, Heinrich brings a strong and tested knowledge of the business school industry and changing market trends.
Heinrich received a master’s degree in education from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Christian University. She recently completed a certificate of marketing from Georgetown University and the Executive MBA Program in the McDonough School of Business.
Anne Kilby, Assistant Dean of Operations, MBA Admissions
Kilby manages the operations vertical within the MBA Admissions department. Kilby has spent over 12 years in higher education, mainly in the areas of admissions operations, recruiting, executive education, faculty relations, and strategic marketing. She has worked within a global scope by representing programs internationally at recruiting events and fairs, partnering with universities and clients abroad, and interviewing prospective candidates worldwide. Prior to Georgetown, she was the Director of MPA Admissions at the University of North Carolina. She also brings seven years experience from NYU Stern’s Global Executive Programs Office.
Kilby received a Master’s in Public Administration from NYU Wagner’s School of Public Policy, specializing in international policy and management. She also has a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in mathematics from North Carolina State University.
Serafina Smith, Director of MBA Admissions, Diversity Partnerships
Smith manages the recruitment and events strategy for the Full-time and Flex MBA programs. She also serves a business development role to manage current and new external partnerships, and is a member of the MBA Admissions Committee.
Smith is a higher education professional with over eight years of professional experience in admissions, academic advising, multicultural services, non-traditional student services, learning communities, international student services, civic learning, and democratic engagement.
Smith is a double alumna of Rutgers University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business management and entrepreneurship and a master’s degree in labor and employment relations. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in higher education, graduating in May 2025.
Porter Blackford, Associate Director of Operations
Blackford serves as the associate director of operations for the McDonough MBA Admissions office. In this role, she oversees application operations and processing for both the Full-time and Flex MBA Programs and serves as a member of the Admissions Committee. Prior to joining MBA Admissions in 2013, Blackford worked in communications for an international trade association in Washington, D.C. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English from Georgetown University in 2011.
Amanda Wayner, Assistant Director
Wayner provides support for application processing operations and marketing for MBA Admissions. She originally joined Georgetown McDonough in 2012 and has served in various capacities throughout her tenure. Wayner graduated from Ohio University with a degree in political science.
Ashby Manson, Assistant Director
Manson provides support for alumni relations, strategic partnerships, student ambassadors, recruitment, and admissions. Prior to joining Georgetown McDonough, she worked in corporate training and business development for a market research firm. She also has experience in the non-profit industry with case management and volunteer coordination. Manson graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in International Relations and Religious Studies and is a McDonough MBA candidate in the Flex MBA Program, graduating in May 2021.
Devin Owens, Front Office Manager
Owens is the first point of contact for prospective inquiries to the MBA Admissions team. She also provides application support to candidates. Prior to joining Georgetown McDonough, Owens excelled in the industry of retail banking and client support.
Glen Nuenighoff, Operations Manager
Nuenighoff provides support in the execution and logistics of application processing for the MBA Admissions team. He joined Georgetown McDonough in 2016 after working for two years in federal IT sales. Prior to this he earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing management from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business in 2014.
Sofia Espino Yaeger, Marketing and Events Coordinator
Espino supports the Marketing and Communications team within MBA Admissions. Prior to Georgetown McDonough, she worked in the nonprofit industry. Espino graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Arts Administration.
