Shelly Heinrich, Associate Dean, MBA and MS-ESM Admissions and Director of Marketing

Heinrich leads the MBA Admissions team in both its marketing and operational strategy to build awareness, recruit, yield, and retain the Full-time and Flex MBA programs. She also develops the integrated marketing strategy for the team and manages the internal marketing team and external marketing firm in its execution.

Heinrich is a senior marketing professional with over 17 years of experience in the higher education, corporate, and nonprofit sectors. Her responsibilities have included marketing, recruitment, business development, event planning, and public relations. With experience in five business schools, Heinrich brings a strong and tested knowledge of the business school industry and changing market trends.

Heinrich received her Executive MBA from the McDonough School of Business, Master of Education from the University of Texas at Austin, and Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Christian University. She serves as president of her local elementary PTA and is a military spouse of 17 years. She’s served on the GMAC Annual Conference Advisory Board for two consecutive years and was a Faculty in Residence for the GMAC Advanced Institute for New Professionals.


Anne Kilby, Assistant Dean of Operations, MBA Admissions

Kilby manages the operations vertical within the MBA Admissions department. Kilby has spent 14 years in higher education, mainly in the areas of admissions operations, recruiting, executive education, faculty relations, and strategic marketing. She has worked within a global scope by representing programs internationally at recruiting events and fairs, partnering with universities and clients abroad, and interviewing prospective candidates worldwide. Prior to Georgetown, she was the Director of MPA Admissions at the University of North Carolina. She also brings seven years experience from NYU Stern’s Global Executive Programs Office.

Kilby received a Master’s in Public Administration from NYU Wagner’s School of Public Policy, specializing in international policy and management. She also has a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in mathematics from North Carolina State University. 


Serafina Smith, Director of MBA Admissions, Diversity Partnerships

Smith manages the recruitment and events strategy for the Full-time and Flex MBA programs. She also serves a business development role to manage current and new external partnerships, and is a member of the MBA Admissions Committee.

Smith is a higher education professional with over eight years of professional experience in admissions, academic advising, multicultural services, non-traditional student services, learning communities, international student services, civic learning, and democratic engagement.

Smith is a double alumna of Rutgers University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business management and entrepreneurship and a master’s degree in labor and employment relations. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in higher education, graduating in May 2025.


Amanda Wayner, Director of Graduate Admissions, Marketing Technology

Wayner is responsible for the marketing technology products used by the MBA and Executive Education teams. She also serves on the MBA Admissions Committee. She originally joined Georgetown McDonough in 2012 and has served in various capacities throughout her tenure. Wayner graduated from Ohio University with a degree in political science. 


Greg Goulding, Associate Director, Data Analytics & Operations

Goulding manages data analytics efforts for the MBA and Executive Education Admissions departments, and also serves on the MBA Admissions Committee. Prior to joining Georgetown McDonough, he spent four years at Deloitte helping federal clients improve their data processes and reporting capabilities. Goulding graduated from Georgetown in 2017, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.


Glen Nuenighoff, Associate Director, Operations

Nuenighoff provides support in the execution and logistics of application processing for the MBA Admissions team. He joined Georgetown McDonough in 2016 after working for two years in federal IT sales. Prior to this he earned a Bachelor of Science in marketing management from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business in 2014.


Katherine Chan, Assistant Director, Marketing Operations

Chan manages the intersection between marketing and operations communications for the MBA Admissions team. In this role, she helps to support marketing operations initiatives and execute strategy related to marketing analytics data. She is also a member of the MBA Admissions Committee. Prior to joining Georgetown McDonough, she worked at a market research firm and her experience includes business development, client services, and learning and development. Chan graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in cognitive science and psychology. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Professional Studies in integrated marketing communications.


Sadie Marsman, Assistant Director, Partnerships

Marsman supports recruitment and events strategy for the MBA programs. In this role, she works with prospective students throughout the application process, manages current students and alumni to support recruitment efforts, builds relationships with current and new external partnerships, and is a member of the MBA Admissions Committee.

Marsman joins Georgetown from the University of Michigan, where she gained seven years of professional experience in admissions, academic advising, career services, intercultural programming, and international education administration. Prior to her professional experience, she earned a bachelor’s degree in linguistics and master’s degrees in higher education and public policy from the University of Michigan.


Madison Shields, Assistant Director, Marketing and Communications

Shields supports the Marketing and Communications team within MBA Admissions. In this role, she helps manage and execute a variety of marketing and communication tactics for the overall recruitment strategy including email, web, and our paid media. She is also a member of the MBA Admissions Committee. Prior to joining Georgetown McDonough, she worked in campaign communications for international and national issue advocacy and public affairs firms in Washington, D.C. Shields graduated from Saint Joseph’s University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.


Adriana Hammond, Admissions and Customer Engagement Coordinator

Hammond serves as the initial point of contact between prospective MBA students and the admissions team. She also provides support to the Admissions Committee during the student candidate interview process. Prior to joining Georgetown McDonough, she worked in fine arts as a gallery manager and curator. Hammond graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in international studies, Russia & Eurasia.
