Georgetown McDonough Removes Cap on Yellow Ribbon Program Scholarships To Cover Tuition for Veteran Students

To remove financial barriers for veterans seeking graduate education, Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business has expanded scholarships of the Yellow Ribbon Program (YRP) to fully cover all graduate programs.

Beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year, there will be no cap on graduate-level YRP maximums per student annually for those who qualify. The YRP is a collaboration between Georgetown and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to provide tuition assistance not covered by the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill.

The new standards will fully cover the tuition of Post-9/11 beneficiaries and, by extension, YRP participants pursuing all graduate programs at McDonough, including the MBA programs, the Executive MBA, Executive MBA in Dubai, M.S. in Business Analytics, M.S. in Environment and Sustainability Management, M.S. in Management, M.S. in Global Real Assets, the part-time and accelerated M.S. in Finance programs, the M.A. in International Business and Policy, and the M.A. in International Business and Policy in Dubai programs.

“As a leading business school in Washington, D.C., Georgetown McDonough has a deep responsibility to honor and support those who have served our country. Expanding the Yellow Ribbon Program reflects our commitment to removing barriers to education and ensuring that veteran students can pursue their academic and professional goals without additional financial burden.”

Paul Almeida, dean and William R. Berkley Chair of the McDonough School of Business

To qualify for the program, students must be eligible for Post-9/11 veterans benefits and be enrolled in a degree-seeking program that exceeds the Post-9/11 tuition maximum benefit cap.
