McDonough’s Undergraduate Program Welcomes Diverse Class of 2028 from Around the World

Georgetown McDonough’s Undergraduate Program recently welcomed a new class of students who bring diverse and global perspectives to the Hilltop.

The Class of 2028 is from 32 states and 21 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, and Mexico. The top states represented include California, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York, and Texas.

“At Georgetown McDonough, we believe a diverse cohort is essential for fostering a dynamic learning environment,” said Patricia Grant, senior associate dean of the Undergraduate Program. “As we prepare the next generation of global business leaders, our commitment extends beyond academic excellence to nurturing ethical leaders who will drive positive change. By integrating diverse perspectives, we equip our students with the insights and integrity necessary to lead in an interconnected world.”

This year’s incoming class demonstrates tremendous academic excellence, with mid-50% SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing scores ranging from 700 to 770, SAT Math scores from 720 to 790, and ACT scores from 32-35. On average, admitted students placed in the top 6.8% of their high school class.

Georgetown McDonough’s Undergraduate Program continues to be ranked as one of the top schools in the country and combines a rigorous curriculum with experiential learning experiences that prepare students to be ethical leaders and make a positive impact in the world. The Class of 2023 reported record employment results after graduation, earning an average salary of $100,859. Additionally, 97.3% of students seeking employment received an offer within three months of graduation and 71% received a signing bonus.

The Class of 2028 is part of an undergraduate business population, with four years of students totaling 1,373 and representing 48 countries. Nearly 36% of undergraduate students represent minority groups and 38% identify as female. The most popular majors include finance, operations and analytics, and marketing.

Georgetown McDonough is distinguished by its location in the global capital city of Washington, D.C., its access to the broader academic community within Georgetown University, and its values-based approach to business, rooted in its Jesuit heritage. Within the Undergraduate Program, students gain a D.C. advantage with access to leaders and organizations spanning business, policy, government, diplomacy, nonprofits, and startups. Students complete the Georgetown liberal arts core in addition to their business studies to emphasize an interdisciplinary approach to education.

With a holistic focus on well-being, the Undergraduate Program offers a variety of opportunities to nurture students’ personal growth. Students are invited to weekly Wellness Wednesdays programming, which focuses on academic, physical, spiritual, and emotional dimensions of wellness; Caffeine with the Deans and Bagels with the Deans to connect with undergraduate advising deans and program staff; and the H.O.M.E. program, an off-campus, overnight experience that guides students through reflection, skill-building workshops, and opportunities to form a community away from the Hilltop.

“The Class of 2028 is a bright, compassionate, and driven cohort of students,” said Grant. “Through our curricular and co-curricular programming – as well as a focus on their whole-person development – we look forward to seeing what our incoming students accomplish over the coming year and beyond.”
