Georgetown McDonough Alumni Around the World – Winter 2023

Georgetown McDonough celebrates a worldwide network of alumni as they explore, travel, and settle in global communities. Georgetown McDonough alumni are creating memories and sharing moments with fellow alumni, friends, family, and communities across the country and around the world.

Brian Christie (MBA’94) and Tony Wainaina (MBA’93) at the Circle Art Gallery in Nairobi, Kenya.

Evan Piekara (MBA’13) and his wife, Prita, and daughter, Anaiya, visiting the sights of London, England.

JD Schurter (MSF’22) traveled to India for work.

Jesse Weidemann (MBA’19) proposed to his now fiancée, Betsy Williams, in Antarctica this past January.

John Saunders (EMBA’17) visited Uganda with author Lisa Randolph and the U.S. Ambassador to Uganda Natalie Brown (SFS’89) for the launch of Randolph’s book The Wildlife Divas Adventure Team.

Kristen Staples (MBA’94) in Panajachel, Guatemala, serves as chairman of the board with Hope to Walk, an organization providing prosthetics to amputees.

Kurt Sikkema (IBP’21) in San Francisco, California, for the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters Conference.

Nicole Bolisay (B’00) visited Rome, Italy, with her family – Tristan, Quinn, and Efren.

A Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) Reunion happened in Ogelsby, Illinois, last November when Philip Bacchus (GEMBA’13) wed Nathalie. Fellow GEMBA classmates attended, including Charles Nailen, Clive Thomas, Florentino Vazquez, Kat Sullivan, Oscar Fernandez, and Tina Ghiladi. 

Sally Yiping Shi (MBA’96) was honored as one of the 12 Outstanding Asian American Women by the China Institute in San Francisco, California.

Sara Eisenberg (MBA’21) visited fellow classmate Tomas Valdes (MBA’21) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he lives and works full time.

Scott Frohman (EMBA’06) visited Budapest, Hungary, with his son, Matthew.

Thijs Glass (MBA’00) visiting the beach of the Atlantic Ocean in Iceland with his two furry friends. Glass lived in Iceland for the last nine months on a work assignment.
