Georgetown Venture Lab Welcomes Georgetown Startup Accelerator’s 2022 Cohort

The Georgetown Venture Lab kicked off its 2022 cohort of the Georgetown Startup Accelerator (GSA), a virtual, nine-week program, on September 13, 2022. 

The GSA brings together 10 early-stage startup companies founded by Georgetown University alumni who will have access to the Venture Lab’s experienced network of mentors, peers, and top subject matter experts to accelerate their business. 18 founders are participating in the fall cohort, with at least half of the teams composed of female and/or minority founders. The program will feature guest speakers such as Doug Bouton (C’07), chief executive officer, GATSBY Chocolate and Halo Top International; Margarita Womack (MBA’19), founder and chief executive officer, Maspanadas; Dahna Goldstein, Georgetown Entrepreneur in Residence and chief investment officer, Halcyon; Ryan Kuder (B’96), managing director of Techstars Anywhere; and many more.

The program culminates on November 8, 2022, with a Demo Day featuring presentations by each company showcasing their progress. Registration and more information for Demo Day can be found here.

The fall cohort includes the following companies: 

AI PRIORI offers social changemakers an effective new way to understand and address the world’s most pressing challenges by enabling them to review their content at scale and identify the information most relevant to them. Powered by insights from leaders with issue area expertise and lived experience, AI PRIORI utilizes AI technology to support social changemakers at the speed and scale of change. The company was founded by Emily Yu (SFS’01) and is based out of Washington, D.C.

Budeli is a property tech amenity that provides $1 food deliveries to apartment residents with no tips or hidden fees. The company was founded by Carlos Bello (MBA’22) and Jinsung Bach (MBA’22). Budeli is based out of Washington, D.C.

dGo-on is a Chilean startup with a patented breakthrough digital voting technology built into a SaaS system that provides much-needed trust in the voting process, with anonymity and correct ballot counting guaranteed. The company was founded by Cesar Correa Parker (MBA’13), Josefina Correa Gutierrez, and Tomas Ramirez Armijo and is based out of Santiago, Chile.

Keep Company helps organizations stop preventable attrition of moms, dads, and caregivers. The company was founded by Claudia Naim-Burt (SFS’08) and Adrienne Prentice and is based out of Bethesda, Maryland.

Sweet M’lk is a plant-based, sugar-free, chocolate milk. The company was founded by Dillon Denehy (B’18) and is based out of New York, New York.

Parrotfish is a collection of sustainable, zero waste, plant-based, and palm-oil-free shampoo, conditioner, and soap bars for a healthier planet and a healthier you. The company was founded by Katie Pearson Fucci (G’20) and is based out of New Bern, North Carolina.

Power & Pearls is an online boutique bringing the latest pearl accessories to women for the workday and for the weekend. Featuring modern designs that should be a part of every woman’s wardrobe, Power & Pearls is committed to helping women feel powerful, be seen as powerful, and ultimately, make power moves. The company was founded by Tonya Sloans (L’08) and operates out of Washington, D.C.

Ridge is a first-of-its-kind neobank providing digital banking services grounded in the triple bottom line: people, planet, and prosperity. Ridge’s banking services protect nature, communities, and your money. The company was founded by Max Gottlieb (C’14) and Bo Mahr and is based out of Winifrede, West Virginia.

Student Global Ambassador Program is a leadership program that empowers our underserved youth to take action on real-world problems by using STEM to solve sustainability and social justice challenges. The company was founded by Michele Joseph (MBA’96) and is based out of Rockville, Maryland.

Toperty is making homeownership accessible for Latin Americans by offering a home financing alternative through a rent-to-own program. The company eliminates traditional key barriers –debt and down payment – and reduces all friction to make the homeownership process affordable and simple. Toperty was founded by Julian Uribe (L’20), Nicolas Albornoz, Nicolas Maldonado, and Pedro Botero, and is based out of Bogotá, Colombia.
