Incoming 2021 Dikran Izmirlian Program in Business and Global Affairs Class Brings More Diversity and Cultural Experience to the Program
Georgetown University has selected its second class of incoming students for the recently launched Dikran Izmirlian Program in Business and Global Affairs (BGA) program. The 42 students in the class of 2024 represent diverse backgrounds, interests, and experiences and share curiosity about the complex interactions at the intersection of business and global affairs.
“We’re so excited to welcome our second class of students who each bring their unique experiences, cultures, and backgrounds to the program,” said Brad Jensen, academic director, BGA. ”Working with students of these diverse backgrounds will only continue to build on the program’s commitment to preparing global ready citizens.”
The program’s global cohort includes 10 international students from Brazil, China, India, New Zealand, Mexico, South Korea, and Vietnam. 22 students are from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service (SFS) and 20 are from Georgetown McDonough; 50% are women, and six are Georgetown Scholars.
The BGA is the first two-school, interdisciplinary undergraduate degree program at Georgetown University and is delivered by faculty from the McDonough School of Business and the Walsh School of Foreign Service.
The BGA program features an innovative set of signature courses with experiential learning around the world and in Washington, D.C. The many benefits of the new joint degree also include: dedicated resources at both schools; team teaching; and a small learning community. This interdisciplinary degree positions graduates to make meaningful contributions to pressing global issues within business, government, and society. [Watch the video.]
