MSF Class of 2023 Earns Record Career Success
The Master of Science in Finance (MSF) class of 2023 at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business achieved record salaries and career outcomes in their post-graduate roles, according to the annual MSF Career Success Report.
Recent graduates earned a base salary of $134,589, up from $119,199 last year, and a median base salary of $125,000, up from $105,000. For the fifth year in a row, the median base salary remained at the six-figure mark.
“Through our rigorous curriculum, immersive student experiences, and unrivaled blended online approach to learning, MSF graduates are prepared to make an immediate impact in their careers,” said Allan Eberhart, senior associate dean for the MSF program. “Our culture of excellence is a result of the entire community of students, faculty, and staff who make the Georgetown MSF a highly valued degree for employers across the world.”
The MSF program reports career success by experience level to provide a more in-depth view of outcomes data among its diverse cohorts.
Those with four or more years of work experience reported an average base salary of $157,930, up from $146,755 last year, with a median base salary of $146,500. Between the time of admission and six months after graduation, the average base salary increased by 104%, and 97% of these graduates earned a promotion at their current company or accepted a job at a different firm.
Graduates with three years or less of work experience reported an average base salary of $105,613, up from $98,692 last year, and a median base salary of $110,000. The average non-base compensation was $29,227. A total of 96% of entry and early career graduates were either employed or pursuing further education within six months of graduation.

The class of 2023 secured roles across a range of industry areas and leadership roles, including Fortune 500 companies, global financial institutions, renowned consulting firms, government agencies, nonprofits, entrepreneurial ventures, small companies, and other organizations.
As Georgetown McDonough’s first technology-intensive program, the MSF combines interactive asynchronous course content with weekly live classes – which students can attend in person or online in the MSF blended classroom – to create an unrivaled blended experience for students.
