Ferdows Named Bestselling Case Author

Kasra Ferdows, the Heisley Family Chair Professor of Global Manufacturing, was named the 20th best-selling case author for the 2017-2018 academic year by the Case Centre. The Case Centre is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the case method through collecting cases, holding workshops and giving out its annual case awards.

Ferdows’ case, “Zara: The World’s Largest Fashion Retailer,” has been included in the Case Centre’s bestselling lists since its first publication in 2003. The case examines how Zara’s business model has enabled it to continue growing at a fast rate through an economic recession and at a time when other retail chains are falling behind. Ferdows co-authored the case with Jose Antonio Dominguez Machuca, professor of operations management at the University of Sevilla, and Michael Lewis, professor of supply strategy at the University of Bath.

Ferdows ranked the 21th best-selling case author in the 2016-2017 academic year. He also won the Case Centre’s Production and Operations Management award in 2017 for the case.
