Georgetown McDonough Master’s and Executive Education Programs Expand to Capitol Campus in 2025
A select number of specialized master’s programs at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business will soon expand to the university’s Capitol Campus to deepen connections to the Washington, D.C., ecosystem and broaden the school’s educational opportunities in the nation’s capital.
Starting in fall 2025, students in the M.S. in Environment and Sustainability Management (ESM), M.S. in Global Real Assets (GRA), and M.S. in Management (MiM) programs will join the vibrant community at Georgetown’s newest campus – just blocks away from the U.S. Capitol, federal agencies, think tanks, and other top multinational corporations and organizations. The school’s Custom Executive Education team also is now offering programming at both the Hilltop Georgetown campus and at the Capitol Campus.
“For over 200 years, Georgetown has been distinguished by its location in Washington, D.C., as a destination for interdisciplinary research, immersive learning experiences, and unparalleled access to business, government, and policy communities,” said Paul Almeida, dean and William R. Berkley Chair of the McDonough School of Business. “Our expansion to the Capitol Campus builds on our strengths in these areas while creating new opportunities to enhance student learning and help our programs reach their full potential.”
These programs will have a dedicated space in the newly renovated 111 Massachusetts Avenue, which will include state-of-the-art classrooms, event spaces, and areas to study, socialize, and interact with the campus community. Program services will also be accessible within the building, including academic advising and career support teams.
Students will have the opportunity to live in Georgetown’s eco-friendly apartment-style residence building at 55 H, which offers the latest in apartment living and amenities with close proximity to the Capitol Campus, Union Station, D.C.’s renowned food scene, and top cultural attractions.
McDonough joins a growing number of Georgetown’s top schools to offer programs on the Capitol Campus, including Georgetown Law, the McCourt School of Public Policy, the School of Continuing Studies, and select programs from the College of Arts & Sciences. Students will be able to connect across academic programs to enhance interdisciplinary learning, in addition to events and research opportunities with the university’s centers, initiatives, and institutes located at the Capitol Campus – including The Earth Commons Institute and McDonough’s faculty-led centers and initiatives like the Steers Center for Global Real Estate.
With access to direct transportation between campuses, students also have access to a variety of student clubs and organizations on the Hilltop to explore their passions and build new relationships with peers, in addition to new club opportunities on the Capitol Campus.
“By expanding to the Capitol Campus, we believe our students – both on the Hilltop and downtown – will enjoy the very best of the student experience at Georgetown,” said Almeida. “We will offer events, student clubs and organizations, and connections at both campuses while forging new opportunities for partnerships and collaborations throughout the D.C. region.”
