Georgetown MBA Advances to 23rd in the United States in Bloomberg Businessweek Ranking

Georgetown’s Full-time MBA advanced to 23rd overall in the annual Bloomberg Businessweek ranking of MBA programs, up one spot from last year.

The ranking measures schools in the categories of compensation, learning, networking, entrepreneurship, and diversity. Results are based on surveys of alumni, students, and corporate recruiters, as well as employment and admissions data provided by schools. Georgetown McDonough advanced in four of the five categories that make up the ranking, including compensation, learning, networking, and entrepreneurship.

The school continues to innovate our curricular and co-curricular learning experiences – including certificates in sustainability, healthcare, nonmarket strategy, and consumer analytics; global partnerships; and whole-person community support – which is reflected in this year’s ranking with a jump to 15th in learning, up from 22nd in 2023. McDonough also advanced 16 positions to 19th in entrepreneurship, two positions to 19th in networking, and one position to 22nd in compensation.

Steeped in a values-based education, Georgetown McDonough prepares MBA students to become principled leaders in business. This mission is reinforced through courses such as Ethical Leadership and the signature “Ethics Project” – an open-ended, semester-long group project with a simple prompt to “think of something good to do, and do it” to practice ethical principles with real-world application.

This year, the MBA program also received recognition from AACSB International for its Innovation That Inspires initiative for the Executive Challenge – an immersive, day-long role-play case competition that connects students with alumni and serves as the final exam for the required Leadership Communications course.

As a result of ongoing course innovation and real-world experiences, Georgetown MBA students continue to set records for career outcomes and join a community of diverse and highly qualified professionals who support them during their time on the Hilltop and beyond.

“Georgetown’s MBA program is focused on equipping students with the global perspective, principled leadership abilities, and interdisciplinary understanding needed to drive positive change in the world today,” said Sudipta Dasmohapatra, senior associate dean for MBA programs. “We are proud to be recognized as a top business school in categories that demonstrate how our education prepares students for careers of the future with skills that are highly valued by employers.”
