Georgetown University Reveals Research on How Companies Can Create a More Inclusive Workforce
Companies across the U.S. are clamoring for workers, yet many of these jobs remain out of reach for certain populations. On October 13, Business for Impact at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, together with research partner Just Results, will release new insights that address some of America’s most persistent and structural employment barriers which effectively exclude millions of potential workers from jobs. This report will also provide recommendations on how companies can build a more inclusive workforce.
The report Jobs for All: Employment Social Enterprise and Economic Mobility in the United States, explores effective social enterprise solutions and the factors that contribute to preventing people from securing employment including: incarceration, disabilities (emotional, intellectual and physical), being an immigrant, refugee or veteran, low-income backgrounds, and opportunity youth.
The report was made possible by the support of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation. REDF (Roberts Enterprise Development Foundation), a venture philanthropy focused on building the employment social enterprise sector, provided technical guidance, and our sponsors Inclusively, REDF and SAP.
“Our mission at Business for Impact is to work with companies, nonprofits and government to help solve the world’s most pressing issues,” said Leslie Crutchfield, moderator for the event and executive director, Business for Impact. “This report can serve as a guide to help businesses that need workers to create a more robust and inclusive workforce.”
