Georgetown McDonough’s Class of 2023 Embarks on Next Chapter

Graduate and undergraduate students at Georgetown McDonough crossed the stage at commencement and officially became Hoya alumni.

Igor Smelyansky (MBA’05) delivered the commencement address to 815 graduate students in the McDonough School of Business, and Dan Helfrich (SFS’98, MBA’99) addressed the 370 undergraduate students who received their degrees as part of the Class of 2023.

In addition to delivering the McDonough commencement addresses, Georgetown University President John J. DeGioia awarded Smelyansky and Helfrich with honorary doctorates.

During commencement weekend, Georgetown McDonough recognized students graduating with honors from the Undergraduate Program on Friday, May 19, during the school’s annual Tropaia Ceremony.
