As the spring semester comes to a close, Georgetown McDonough is pleased to commemorate the accomplishments of the Class of 2025. We are proud to recognize their achievements as they embark on their next chapter as Hoya alumni. To celebrate, we’re spotlighting several of the exceptional students in the Class of 2025 as they share their personal stories, reflect on their time on the Hilltop, and preview what the future holds after commencement.
Marie-Perle Ngivula Nkosi (MiM’25) has embraced every opportunity for growth during her time in the Master’s in Management (MiM) program at Georgetown, from traveling to Singapore for the Global Business Experience (GBE) consulting project to collaborating with classmates from around the world. Through these experiences, she developed new perspectives and a willingness to step out of her comfort zone. Here, she reflects on the memories, lessons, and advice that have shaped her journey on the Hilltop.
What is your favorite memory or proudest moment from your time at Georgetown?
One of my favorite memories from my time at Georgetown was the GBE in Singapore. Traveling with my classmates, exploring a new culture together, and representing Georgetown abroad made the experience incredibly special. From sharing meals at “hawker centers” to late-night debriefs, it was a perfect mix of personal growth, cultural exchange, and unforgettable memories.
How do you plan to apply the skills you have learned at Georgetown in the next phase of your career?
At Georgetown, I learned the importance of combining data-driven thinking with a human-centered approach. As I move into the next phase of my career, I plan to keep people at the heart of everything I do. The skills I gained in collaboration, critical thinking, and empathy will help me create solutions that not only work on paper but also make a real difference in people’s lives.
What is one of the most important lessons you have learned while at Georgetown?
I learned the value of embracing a diverse environment and being open to new perspectives. Surrounded by classmates from different backgrounds and cultures, I realized how much growth comes from listening, adapting, and stepping into the unfamiliar. It taught me not to shy away from new ideas or experiences, but to lean into them with curiosity and respect. That mindset has made me more thoughtful, flexible, and ready for whatever comes next.
Is there a particular person in the Georgetown community that has been instrumental to your success?
One of the biggest sources of support and inspiration during my time at Georgetown has been my classmates. Their drive, curiosity, and willingness to help one another created a collaborative environment that pushed me to grow both personally and professionally. Whether it was group projects, late-night study sessions, or just sharing advice, their encouragement and perspectives played a huge role in shaping my experience and success.
What are your post-graduate plans?
Following my graduation from Georgetown’s MiM program, I will be working as a senior consultant in business transformation at EY’s office in Montreal, Québec, Canada.
What advice would you give to the next class of Georgetown students?
My advice to the next class of Georgetown students is to stay curious and open. Some of the most rewarding experiences come from stepping outside your comfort zone, whether it is joining a new club, traveling abroad, or taking on a project that challenges you. Embrace every opportunity to learn, not just from your courses but also from your classmates, professors, and the broader Georgetown community. You never know where a new experience might lead or what it might teach you.
