Gregory Lyon

Professor Lyon is Assistant Teaching Professor in Business Analytics at the McDonough School of Business. He has served as a data science and analytics expert for projects ranging from survey research to global workforce development to regulatory compliance and has taught programming, business analytics, data science, statistics, natural language processing, machine learning, and cybersecurity in undergraduate, graduate, and executive education programs. He helped launch the MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) program within McDonough School of Business and served as Assistant Director of the program for several years. He holds several industry-standard certifications in technology, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. His research focuses on work and employment relations, operations, policy, health, technology, and information security.

Prior to Georgetown, he managed databases, optimized data engineering processes, and spearheaded predictive modeling projects in data science. He earned his Ph.D. at Rutgers University and was a postdoctoral researcher in data science and survey research at Tufts University.
