Professor Ronkainen has co-authored four texts, including International Marketing and International Business. His most recent book is The Global Marketing Imperative (with M. Czinkota and J. Tarrant). He has spoken on global business for executive programs at IBM and the Helsinki School of Economics in Finland. He has served on the board of the Washington International Trade Association, where he started the association's newsletter, Trade Trends. Professor Ronkainen developed the School of Business summer study program in Hong Kong for undergraduate business students.
