Curriculum
The Georgetown University MBA Evening Program in its McDonough School of Business is dedicated to preparing highly skilled and highly principled professionals equipped with the knowledge and foresight to lead and achieve in the constantly growing and transforming global marketplace.
Georgetown’s MBA Evening Program is taught by the same faculty, follows the same curriculum, and confers the same degree as Georgetown’s MBA Full-Time Program. For working professionals who aspire to lead at a higher level while continuing their careers, the Georgetown MBA Evening Program is ideal.
Georgetown’s general management approach and immersive educational strategies draw from the combined excellence and experience of its faculty. They provide each student with the skills to manage and lead an organization with insight and success.
All students begin by taking individual core classes including accounting, decision sciences, economics, finance, marketing, and management. Starting in the second year, students begin to tailor the curriculum to meet their interests and current or future professional needs by taking elective courses in addition to core classes.
Four residencies ---intensive, integrative courses---complement regular class instruction throughout the duration of the program. Unique to Georgetown, the residencies provide students with the opportunity to apply their learning and develop teamwork and leadership skills in practical, real-world settings.
In addition to the intensive and multidisciplinary coursework, Georgetown’s MBA Evening Program is built upon a cohort system that divides each incoming class into teams who learn and grow together in classes and residencies throughout the three years of the program. Students work with and learn from fellow professionals, sharing knowledge and experience from a diverse cross section of business sectors.
