The Baratta Center for Global Business
With a focus on how business is shaped by changes in geopolitics, trade policies, technology, talent and skills, sustainability efforts, and more, the Baratta Center connects the Georgetown community to the issues — and the people leading them — that are shaping the future of global business. The center engages in research and dialogue that brings together students, business leaders, and academics, and serves as a catalyst for organizations to act on key ideas and recommendations.
Partnerships with the Walsh School of Foreign Service
Georgetown McDonough has partnered with the Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS), Georgetown’s premier school of international affairs, to prepare students for work at the intersection of international public and private sector activities.
Dikran Izmirlian Program in Business and Global Affairs
The Dikran Izmirlian B.S. in Business and Global Affairs is a selective program that immerses undergraduate students in global business issues in Washington, D.C., and around the world so they are prepared to solve the most pressing global challenges.
Joint MBA/MSFS Degree
Georgetown University offers a full-time, three-year program that leads to both MBA and Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) degrees. This dual program focuses on the global interdependence of business and government systems and is intended for those interested in the relationship between foreign relations and global business.
M.A. in International Business and Policy
The one-year MA-IBP degree delivers a strategic blend of business knowledge and policy expertise to help students achieve their goals in our increasingly interconnected world. Designed for working professionals, the program includes instruction in Washington, D.C., abroad, and online.

Georgetown McDonough has long been known for instilling a global mindset in students, allowing them to understand the intricate and nuanced ways the international stage affects businesses large and small. The school pioneered the concept of required global consulting projects for students nearly three decades ago and continues to draw from its diverse global community and location in the global capital city of Washington, D.C. to provide unique experiences for students.
Today, McDonough is excited to offer degree programs in key locations abroad that extend opportunities to attain a Georgetown graduate education to new geographies. Additionally, our international programs provide opportunities for student exchanges, academic partnerships, and a broader global alumni network, strengthening our entire McDonough community’s quest for intellectual inquiry and intercultural understanding.
Executive MBA in Dubai
The EMBA Dubai program engages executives and managers who want to advance their regional and international business capabilities and gain a deeper understanding of how to lead public or provide organizations in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia region and beyond. Located in Dubai’s DIFC Academy, students learn from top faculty who travel to Dubai for the monthly class sessions.
Executive Master’s in Leadership – Qatar
A cutting-edge master’s degree uniquely customized for graduates of the Qatar Leadership Centre, the EML-Q program prepares and develops business leaders who wish to address important issues facing the future of their country. Graduates are equipped with strategies to impact the challenges and opportunities facing business and society.
The Global Business Experience
Georgetown McDonough provides students the opportunity to travel abroad to consult either within an industry or with specific Fortune 500 companies. The program is required of most graduate students and is an elective for undergraduates. Working in small teams, students partner with executives from different organizations to address complex business challenges.
Additionally, through career treks MBA students travel domestically and internationally to network and learn about specifics industries. Full-time MBA students also have the opportunity to study abroad during their time as a Hoya through specialized elective courses from peer business schools.

Partnership with Universities Worldwide
Undergraduate students participate in McDonough’s signature study abroad courses at prestigious institutions such as ESADE, Oxford University, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, or they can select from among more than 70 other partnership programs at the university.
Full-time MBA students also can choose from semester abroad programs at the London Business School, Beijing International MBA, HEC Paris, ESADE Business School, and IAE Business School.
Meaningful Engagements with the D.C. Community
Georgetown McDonough aims to strengthen the nexus between the multilateral organizations and embassies based in D.C. and our student community. We nurture these relationships by providing consulting opportunities to students and through signature events held on our campus or at the host organization’s venue.
Global Startup Internships
In an effort to provide Georgetown undergraduate students with greater access to the global startup community the Georgetown Global Startup Interns Program (GSI) matches students with startups around the world for unique international internships and cultural experiences.
