Application Requirements
The Admissions Committee uses a holistic approach when making an admissions decision. We encourage you to review the application requirements in detail to understand what the Admissions Committee is looking for with regard to each application component.
All interested Masters of Science in Global Real Assets candidates are encouraged to submit an application as early as possible and to review our detailed application instructions.

Tuition Information
The M.S. in Global Real Assets tuition fee for the August 2026 intake is $75,000. It includes tuition as well as specified meals and hotel accommodations for the global residency.
Tuition fees exclude individual health care or health insurance premiums, books and supplies, student fees, round-trip airfare to and from international project locations, room and board, visas, and incidental expenses while traveling. The Office of Billing and Payment Services provides additional information regarding tuition breakdown and student fees through the university.
Scholarship Opportunities and Financial Resources
Scholarships are awarded based on a holistic review process with the goal of admitting a competitive and diverse class. To be considered for a scholarship, applicants must include a scholarship essay with their applications. The Office of Admissions notifies students of scholarship awards at the time of admission to the program. Students are eligible for only one scholarship type.

Georgetown Scholarships
Steers Scholars Program
The Steers Center for Global Real Assets awards 20 full-tuition scholarships to exceptional candidates entering the Master of Science in Global Real Assets (GRA) program. This highly competitive program is made possible through the generosity of Robert (B’75) and Lauren Steers.
These awards recognize individuals with outstanding academic achievement, professional promise, and a demonstrated commitment to advancing the global real assets industry in alignment with Georgetown’s Jesuit values.
Eligibility Criteria
- Recipients must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or the equivalent from an international college or university.
- Recipients must be U.S. citizens or lawful U.S. permanent residents.
Selection Criteria
- Academic Excellence: Candidates must demonstrate a strong record of intellectual and quantitative achievement, evidenced through prior academic performance, relevant coursework, and/or professional certifications. The center seeks students who combine the capacity for analytical rigor with curiosity and a genuine passion for learning.
- Professional Achievement and Leadership: The Steers Center Scholarship Committee evaluates leadership potential, demonstrated performance, and evidence of meaningful career progression or entrepreneurial initiative in real estate, infrastructure, energy, or adjacent sectors. Applicants should demonstrate a capacity to lead teams, make principled decisions, and influence others in positive ways. The evaluation emphasizes both achievement and character.
- Commitment to the Real Assets Industry: Recipients will have a clear and compelling vision for how they intend to contribute to the advancement of the real assets ecosystem—including real estate, infrastructure, and energy transition. Candidates should articulate an understanding of the structural forces shaping global markets, particularly the “Four Ds”: Digitalization, Demographics, Deglobalization, and Decarbonization.
Selection Process
Recipients are selected through a holistic review conducted by the Steers Center Scholarship Committee. The evaluation process includes program application materials, two additional scholarship essays, and two interviews by invitation only. An integral component of the process is the interview with the program’s Academic Director and Director of the Steers Center for Global Real Assets (by invitation only), which focuses on assessing leadership presence, clarity of purpose, and alignment with the center’s mission.
Lucas Scholars Program
The Lucas Scholars Program offers prestigious, merit-based scholarships for students pursuing the M.S. in Global Real Assets at Georgetown University. This program is made possible through the generous support of Richard M. Lucas (B’87).
As a valued member of the Executive Committee of the Steers Center for Global Real Assets Advisory Board, Lucas brings extensive industry experience. Most recently he has served as executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary of Walker & Dunlop, Inc., one of the largest commercial real estate services and finance companies in the United States providing financing and investment sales for multifamily and commercial properties. Lucas previously served as the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Hilton Worldwide.

Georgetown McDonough Merit Scholarships
Georgetown McDonough offers scholarships for M.S. in Global Real Assets students based on an applicant’s academic, personal, and/or professional accomplishments.
Federal Employee Scholarship
In support of Georgetown University’s decision to offer professional development opportunities to current and former federal civil employees and federal contractors, we will consider currently employed or recently separated federal civil government employees for up to a 10% merit-based scholarship award for the fall 2026 intake.
Current and past federal employees and contractors are also eligible for an application fee waiver, which will automatically apply at final submission of the application form. Please email realassets@georgetown.edu with any questions or concerns.
Georgetown Undergraduate and Alumni Scholarship
Current seniors and recent undergraduate Georgetown alumni from the Classes of 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026 are eligible for up to a 10% merit-based tuition scholarship for the master’s in management program.
Current Georgetown students and alumni are also eligible for an application fee waiver, which will apply automatically at final submission of the application form. Please email realassets@georgetown.edu with any questions or concerns.
Georgetown Partnerships
Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows Program
The Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows Program offers financial assistance to returned Peace Corps volunteers pursuing the Master of Science in Global Real Assets at Georgetown University. As part of the program, all fellows complete internships in underserved American communities, allowing them to bring home and expand upon the skills they learned as volunteers. Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business is proud to be a partner school with the Coverdell Fellows Program. As part of this program, all returned Peace Corps volunteers will receive an application fee waiver. Students who are awarded the fellowship will receive a minimum of 25% of tuition in scholarship and the ability to apply for potential Graduate Assistantships. Segal AmeriCorps Education Award
The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award is a post-service benefit earned by individuals who complete an approved term of national service in an AmeriCorps program. Georgetown University McDonough School of Business is proud to be an education partner with the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award.
Applicants to the Executive MBA (EMBA), Master of Science in Management (MiM), Master of Science in Global Real Assets (GRA), and Master of Arts in International Business & Policy (IBP) applying to start in fall 2024 and beyond will receive an application fee waiver. Please reach out to the general email address for the program to request the waiver. EMBA, MiM, GRA, and IBP students who are awarded the AmeriCorps Education Award can be considered to receive a minimum of $5,000 total as a one-time only award. Georgetown McDonough anticipates being able to award 1-3 total scholarships per year based on the strength of the applicant pool.

Military & Veteran Education Benefits
Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business is proud to support veterans and active-duty service members in pursuing their education. Through participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program, qualified students can receive additional scholarship support with no cap on the number of recipients.
