Executive MBA Student Experience

Executive MBA Cohorts

Our EMBA classes are taught in small groups, or cohorts, forging strong bonds among classmates. Over the course of 21 months together, students form close relationships with their fellow cohort members, leaning on each other for advice and support. The cohort format not only provides an incredible support system while at Georgetown, it also creates lifelong friends they can call on throughout their careers.

EMBA Cohort Experience

Experience the Georgetown Campus

The program’s in-person sessions are offered on the historic Georgetown University campus, at the intersection of business and policy in the nation’s capital. The campus community enriches the experience of our Executive MBA students in numerous ways.

Drop in during a professor’s office hours for a conversation. Engage in events and programming offered by the school’s faculty-led centers, initiatives, and institutes to dive more deeply into subjects like sustainability, the future of work, business and policy, finance, and more as you also expand your network. Connect with other students in the McDonough School of Business or across campus through events and organizations like GradGov or Georgetown Entrepreneurship. Beyond the business school, you will have opportunities to connect to other leading faculty across Georgetown’s renowned schools, as well as organizations and alumni in the D.C. region (and around the world).

The Alumni Experience

At Georgetown McDonough, we believe leaders never graduate. This thinking has inspired our idea of life-long engagement, which supports our students’ professional and personal growth. Georgetown’s EMBA alumni have the opportunity to extend their learning and attain new business competencies for a lifetime. Through life-long engagement, alumni may engage in educational opportunities offered by the Graduate and Executive Degree programs at the McDonough School of Business. Reconnect with faculty and peers while extending your professional network outside of your program and cohort.

The Global Network

Our students have access to a diverse, distinguished network of more than 200,000 Georgetown University alumni, from the business school as well as other programs. This map highlights some of the regions where graduates of our Executive MBA program live and work.
