From the Management: What is Value-Based Care?

Value-based care (VBC) shifts healthcare reimbursement from volume (quantity) to outcomes (quality). Unlike the traditional fee-for-service model, which rewards the quantity of procedures, VBC ties payments to quality metrics such as patient recovery, reduced readmissions, and preventive care. A central component of the Affordable Care Act, VBC incentivizes providers to improve patient health and reduce unnecessary costs — ultimately aligning clinical care with long-term value for both patients and the healthcare system.
