Petacchi Honored with The Accounting Review’s Outstanding Reviewer Award
Reining Petacchi, Dottie and Tim Hobin Associate Professor at the McDonough School of Business, received The Accounting Review (TAR) Outstanding Reviewer Award at the 2020 American Accounting Association (AAA) virtual annual meeting.
“I am truly honored to receive this award,” said Petacchi. “I will continue devoting myself toserving the accounting profession and the broader academic community.”
The award recognizes reviewers who provided particularly high-quality insight during the three-year tenure of the outgoing TAR senior editor. Award recipients are selected by a committee of editors based on assessments of reviewer performance. They considered the potential number of completed reviews, average editor-rating of the quality of the reviews, and review timeliness. Recipients are an exclusive group, representing only the top 3.4% of all TAR contributors.
“The Accounting Review is the leading academic journal in our area, and editorial board membership itself is a significant distinction” said William Baber, Robert E. McDonough Professor of Business Administration and accounting area coordinator. “The award distinguishes Professor Petacchi among this elite group, and we commend her for this very substantial recognition.”
In addition to Petacchi, the Accounting Review editorial board also includes McDonough faculty William Baber, Robert E. McDonough Professor of Business Administration; Gilles Hilary, Houston Term Professor; Jason Schloetzer, William and Karen Sonneborn Term Associate Professor; and Xiaoli Tian, associate professor.
Georgetown McDonough accounting faculty editorial appointments also include positions with Accounting, Organizations, and Society; Contemporary Accounting Research; the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy; the Journal of the American Taxation Association; the Journal of Management Accounting Research; and Management Science.
