Class of 2021 Undergraduate Students Recognized As Valedictorian and Salutatorian

The Undergraduate Program at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business has announced the Class of 2021 valedictorian as Sarah Mardjuki (B’21) and the salutatorian as Matthew Campbell (B’21).

“Despite what we have all been through, this is such an amazing time to celebrate the tremendous achievements of these two bright students,” said Patricia Grant, senior associate dean for the Undergraduate Program. “We are so proud of Sarah and Matthew and the impact their academic achievements have had on the Georgetown McDonough community. We are eager for what they will do to continue to be a bright light and beacon for ethics and leadership in this world.”

Mardjuki majored in finance and operations and information management. During her time on the Hilltop, she served as chief investment officer and treasurer (2019-2020) and chief marketing officer and chairwoman (2020-2021) of the Georgetown University Alumni and Student Federal Credit Union (GUASFCU). She also interned at TPG and Centerview Partners and was a Carroll Fellow as part of the Carroll Fellows Initiative. Additionally, her academic honors include induction into Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha Sigma Nu, and Omega Rho. During Tropaia, she received the Operations and Information Management Faculty Award for Academic Excellence. Mardjuki will be joining Centerview Partners as an investment banking analyst in New York.

“I am deeply grateful to my professors, mentors, family, and friends for cheering me on at every step of the way. My time at Georgetown has been exceptionally rewarding, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds,” she said.

Campbell entered Georgetown as a biology major and transferred into Georgetown McDonough after his first year, where he majored in accounting. He participated in Georgetown Collegiate Investors as an analyst in the consumer and retail sector. He also worked as a teaching assistant for a managerial accounting course and as an audit intern for Ernst & Young’s Boston office. Campbell will join Ernst & Young in Boston, Massachusetts.

“I was incredibly surprised and honored to be this graduating class’s salutatorian,” he said. “My coursework has prepared me well for what I plan to do in the future, and I could not have gotten where I am today without my friends and family.”
