Senior Associate Dean, Executive Education
Professor of Strategy and International Business
Paul Almeida is senior associate dean for Executive Education at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, focusing on strategy, academics, public relations, and business development. He also is a professor of strategy and international business and co-director of the Georgetown-ESADE Global Executive MBA program
Almeida’s research examines innovation, knowledge management, alliances, and informal collaborations across firms and countries and has been published in several leading journals. Almeida has conducted executive education and corporate seminars with numerous organizations in the United States and around the world, including Microsoft, Gucci, Rolls Royce, IBM, Samsung, Sprint, the World Bank, OPIC, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, AREVA, National Public Radio, and the Social Security Administration. He received a Ph.D. and a master’s degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India.

Associate Dean of Admissions & Executive Outreach
Elie Farhat is responsible for the recruiting and outreach efforts for Georgetown McDonough executive degree and open-enrollment certificate programs. Previously Farhat served as the director of graduate programs at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business. He was responsible for all recruiting activities pertaining to their Executive and Corporate MBA programs as well as operational implementation and service delivery. Farhat holds a bachelor’s degree from Merrimack College and a master’s degree in law and diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
Senior Assistant Dean of Program Management
Loni Smith is responsible for ensuring the successful operation of Georgetown McDonough’s executive degree programs. In her role, she leads a team of program management staff and oversees all administrative and operational activities related to the day-to-day delivery of degree programs in the Office of Executive Education. Smith has substantial experience in business education, curriculum design, financial planning and budgeting, and project management. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and is a native of Wilmington, Delaware.
Director of Academic Affairs for Executive Education
George Liebensfeld’s goal is to build faculty resources for degree and non-degree executive education and hence ensure that teaching in Georgetown McDonough’s Executive Education programs is of the highest quality. He has an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in liberal studies from Georgetown University. Liebensfeld was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Korea in 1996 and has worked and lived in Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
Taira D. Crockett
Assistant Director, Recruitment and Admissions
Taira Crockett is responsible for recruitment and admissions for the Executive Master's in Leadership program. Her previous experience in higher education includes The Ohio State University, the University of Dayton, and Georgetown University's Law Center. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Crockett holds a bachelor’s degree from Wright State University in political science and African and African-American studies.
Associate Director of Program Management
Megan Finck manages program operations and delivery for the Global Executive MBA and Corporate International Master’s programs, which are run in collaboration with partner schools in Spain and Brazil. She works with each student from the time of admission through graduation to ensure a seamless program experience. Previously, she worked in education program management at NAFSA: Association of International Educators and the U.S. Green Building Council. Finck is a native of Pennsylvania and has a B.A. in Spanish from Messiah College, where she spent a semester abroad studying at the University of Barcelona, Spain.
Assistant Director, Executive Degree Programs
Opeyemi Laniyonu manages program operations and delivery for the Executive MBA program. He works with each student through time of admission to graduation to ensure a meaningful and enjoyable executive education experience. Previously, he was the associate director of admission at Maret School, a private K-12 college preparatory school in Washington D.C. Laniyonu considers the D.C. metro area home, and has a B.S. in marketing and international business from the University of Maryland.
Juan Felipe Cardona
Assistant Director, Executive Degree Programs
Juan Felipe Cardona manages program operations and delivery for the Executive Master’s in Leadership. Prior to joining the Office of Executive Education, he worked as an assistant coordinator for executive programs designed for international students at Georgetown University’s Center for Intercultural Education and Development. Cardona is originally from Colombia and holds a bachelor’s degree in foreign service from Georgetown University. Throughout his undergraduate career, Cardona participated in exchange programs with L’École Normale Supérieure de Paris, Sciences Po Strasbourg, and the University of Strasbourg in France.
