Flex MBA Online Overview
Whichever route you take, you’ll benefit from the same professors and degree as Flex MBA students and have access to the resources of the McDonough Career Center as you seek to advance your career. With the option to complete the degree in 24-60 months, you can balance work, life, and school with career advancement.
Our online format combines the convenience of virtual classes with two week-long residencies in D.C. at the start of your first and second years. These residencies will allow you to interact with classmates and professors, reinforcing the tight-knit, collaborative Georgetown community for which our MBA experience is known.
In both programs, you’ll participate in our required signature in-person week-long global business consulting experience at the end of the second year.
Flex MBA Online Program Features
Access to the McDonough Career Center
For those seeking career services, the Georgetown Flex MBA Online program provides access to the Georgetown McDonough Career Center. Students have access to certified career coaches in a virtual environment where they can receive assistance in enhancing their resume and cover letters, preparing for interviews, and negotiating offers.
Students will have access to virtual McDonough Career Center programming. Students in their final year of study have access to post-MBA job postings and virtual employer activities. If students reside in the D.C. vicinity, students may attend on-campus employer events.
Integration Into Community and Student Experience
Flex MBA Online students will have the opportunity to participate in select student organizations, community service, and other community events offered in a hybrid or online format throughout the year. Should they choose to come to campus, they will also have access to a wide range of in-person co-curricular events.
Engaging Virtual Experience
Unlike some online programs where the course content is completely asynchronous, Georgetown McDonough believes in synchronous learning, where you can engage with your professors and peers in live course sessions, contributing to a rich educational experience.
Our MBA professors have been intentional about the design of this program, incorporating a mix of synchronous and asynchronous course content that is best suited to the various classes and course topics to maximize your learning. Some courses will be half synchronous and half asynchronous allowing both flexibility and a rich learning experience. Where we feel the course content is best delivered in a completely synchronous environment, we will offer the course in this modality.

D.C. Residencies
Students will be immersed in the cohort experience for one-week in D.C. in August of their first and second years. These residencies will combine classes for academic credit along with community and team building activities.
D.C. AdvantageGlobal Business Experience Residency
As a leader in global business education, Georgetown McDonough provides students the opportunity to travel abroad to consult either within an industry or with specific Fortune 500 companies, helping their client solve a real-world business problem. Working in small teams, students partner with executives from multinational organizations to address complex business challenges. For six to eight weeks leading up to the global trip, student teams work to address the client’s business problem. The teams then travel abroad to present their recommendations to their client, as well as engage in company visits, meet with alumni, and participate in other cultural and social events. This course is required of all MBA students.
