From the Desk of the Dean: New Early Action Deadline and Dean’s Fellowship

We are thrilled to announce the introduction of our Early Action round for MBA Admissions at Georgetown McDonough. This new application option is designed for candidates who have identified our program as their top choice for pursuing an MBA.

Early Action Round Benefits

  1. Priority Consideration: Demonstrate your commitment to Georgetown McDonough.
  2. Early Decision Notification: Receive your admission decision early, allowing ample time for planning (e.g., finding D.C. housing, scheduling travel).
  3. Exclusive Scholarship Eligibility: Early Action applicants are eligible for the prestigious Dean’s Fellowship.

Dean’s Fellowship Details

The Dean’s Fellowship is a new initiative aimed at attracting exceptional candidates who will enrich our diverse and high-caliber MBA community. This fellowship includes:

  • A minimum merit-based scholarship of $25,000 per year
  • Up to $400 travel scholarship provided by the McDonough Career Center to attend a career conference with an adjacent career fair/expo
  • Priority consideration for paid, on-campus leadership roles, such as our MBA Admissions Student Ambassador positions
  • Exclusive networking opportunities, including lunch with the  MBA Alumni Advisory Council Board each semester
  • An opportunity to dine with the dean of the McDonough School of Business
  • An exclusive master class on business analytics

The introduction of the Early Action round and the Dean’s Fellowship marks an exciting new chapter for our MBA program. At Georgetown McDonough, we value excellence, diversity, and leadership, and these initiatives allow us to identify and support exceptional candidates who are passionate about joining our community. I look forward to welcoming our inaugural cohort of Dean’s Fellows next fall, and I’m confident they will contribute significantly to the vibrant intellectual and professional environment that defines our program.

Commitment Requirement

The Early Action round is binding. Admitted candidates must withdraw applications from other MBA programs and commit to attending Georgetown McDonough. While not all Early Action admits will receive the Dean’s Fellowship, only those applying through this round are eligible for consideration.

We encourage all candidates who are certain that Georgetown McDonough is their top choice to apply through the Early Action round. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your commitment and potentially join an elite group of scholars as a Dean’s Fellow. We look forward to reviewing your application and welcoming you to the Georgetown MBA community.
