Steers Center for Global Real Estate Announces Scholars Program to Provide Financial Assistance, Mentorship
The Steers Center for Global Real Estate at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business has announced a new scholarship and mentorship program to recognize and support future leaders in the global real estate industry.
Five exceptional applicants to the M.S in Global Real Assets (MS-GRA) program will receive a 50% merit-based tuition scholarship, in addition to a personalized, one-on-one mentorship opportunity to support their graduate education and career development.
“The Steers Center for Global Real Estate Scholars Program reflects our commitment to empower the next generation of innovators and changemakers in real estate,” said Matthew Cypher, Atara Kaufman Professor of the Practice and director of the Steers Center for Global Real Estate. “We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity that will provide students with the resources and support to build transformative careers in this dynamic industry.”
Scholars will be matched with a senior member of the Steers Center Advisory Board, featuring some of the most prominent and influential leaders in the global real estate industry. Through this mentorship experience, scholars will deepen their understanding of the global real estate market and gain tools to navigate and excel in the field.
Applicants for the scholars program will be evaluated on a variety of criteria, including academic excellence, a demonstrated interest in and commitment to the real estate field, as well as their motivations for pursuing the MS-GRA program and their long-term career aspirations.
“Our unique MS-GRA program at Georgetown McDonough offers a cutting-edge experience that aligns with the changing world of real estate and infrastructure,” said Nita Swinsick, associate dean and managing director for graduate and executive degree programs admissions. “The new scholars program will allow for talented and motivated students to achieve their academic and professional goals in this crucial field.”
The 10-month, full-time MS-GRA program is offered in partnership with the Steers Center for Global Real Estate. In addition to guest lectures throughout the year, the Steers Center hosts the annual Real Estate Luminaries Series, convening industry professionals, alumni, and students to take part in discussions shaping the commercial real estate landscape. Earlier this year, the center also announced a new partnership with Jackson Lucas to expand career opportunities for students interested in real estate.
The first scholars will be selected from the fall 2025 cohort. To be considered for the scholars program, applicants must include a scholarship essay with their application. Learn more and apply on the MS-GRA admissions page.
