External Funding Resources

Scholarships

Merit Scholarships

Georgetown McDonough offers scholarships for Master’s in Management program students based on merit. All students are automatically considered for scholarship upon submission of their application. The Office of Admissions notifies students of scholarship awards at the time of admission to the program.

GU Liberal Arts and STEM Scholarships

Georgetown University Liberal Arts and STEM undergraduate majors will be automatically considered for these merit-based scholarships upon application. If a scholarship is awarded, students will receive a minimum of $10,000 in tuition scholarship funding. The admissions team considers an applicant’s academic, personal, and professional accomplishments, and demonstrated community engagement when awarding the scholarship. The funding of these scholarships are limited, as such, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible for consideration.

Diversity Scholarships

Georgetown McDonough is committed to enhancing diversity in our classrooms. Through our Diversity Scholarship, we provide merit-based scholarships to students whose background or experience, when evaluated holistically, suggests they are uniquely able to contribute to the diversity of the Georgetown community.  We welcome students of all backgrounds to apply. Factors which may be considered include a student’s socioeconomic, cultural and/or family background, personal experiences and challenges, and/or demonstrated ability to develop and support diversity and cultural understanding. These awards take into account an applicant’s academic, personal, and professional accomplishments and community engagement. The funding of these scholarships are limited, as such, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible for consideration.

Partnerships

COLFUTURO

Georgetown McDonough has partnered with the Fundacion para el Futuro de Colombia (COLFUTURO) in the hopes of increasing the financial support available for graduate studies for Colombian students. Students interested in this joint program will apply to the Master of Science in Management (MiM) program through normal application procedures, meeting all the standard admission requirements established by Georgetown. Students admitted to the MiM will then submit a Loan-Scholarship application to COLFUTURO, following the normal application procedures and meeting all the standard requirements established by COLFUTURO. Interested candidates should make sure to review the application procedure found on COLFUTURO’s website. Up to one selected student for this program will receive a scholarship of $25,000 towards MiM tuition from Georgetown McDonough, and up to $50,000 from COLFUTURO in accordance with its policies (please check COLFUTURO’s website for most up-to-date information)

FUNED

Georgetown McDonough partners with the Mexican Foundation for Education, Technology and Science (FUNED), a nonprofit organization founded in 1993 by Mexican businessmen. It is an authorized grantee by the Tax Administration Service. To date, they have supported more than 5,500 students. Mexican Citizens with a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 8/10 GPA and financial need will be eligible. FUNED provides up to 40 percent of total cost not to exceed a $15,000 USD loan. Awardees are given a six month grace period to repay and five years to pay back and 5.75% IR once they have completed their program. If awarded through FUNED, students are also eligible through CONACYT to receive a merit and need-based scholarship of $10-40,000 USD. McDonough will provide merit scholarships to eligible applicants based on the holistic scholarship review process. Students can apply to FUNED starting in January. The second call for applications opens April 20th and will close on June 26th. The grant FUNED gives is mainly for tuition. The FUNED-CONACYT scholarship is a complimentary scholarship by which students fund their masters with different funding sources in order to afford to pay the first part of tuition and to use FUNED´s grant later in the year.
