Meet Georgetown’s Incoming Full-time MBA Class of 2027

Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business welcomed 248 students to its Full-time MBA Class of 2027 — a group that combines strong academic backgrounds, professional achievement, and a broad global perspective.

“Our incoming students embody what makes the Georgetown MBA distinctive – academic excellence, deep professional expertise, and unparalleled global experience,” said Anne Kilby, associate dean for MBA admissions. “This class will bring new perspectives to our classrooms, enrich the Georgetown community, and make an impact both here in the nation’s capital and around the world.”

The class continues to raise the bar academically, with an average GMAT score of 700, an average GRE of 318, and an average undergraduate GPA of 3.3. Students come from academic fields such as business, math and physical sciences, humanities, engineering, economics, and government and international studies.

On average, students bring five years of professional experience, ensuring lively classroom discussions grounded in a real-world perspective. The top industries include financial services (17%), consulting (11%), government (10%), technology and new media (8%), education (7%), and consumer goods and retail (6%).

Global representation remains a hallmark of the program: 44% of students hail from outside the United States, representing 40 countries. The cohort also reflects growth across key demographics — increasing to 31% women, 23% underrepresented minorities (up 9%), more than double the number of Consortium members, and 13% military veterans or service members (up 1%). 21% of the class are first-generation college students.

The Georgetown Full-time MBA is designed to develop principled leaders who can navigate complex global challenges. Through a rigorous curriculum that blends foundational business knowledge with experiential learning, students gain the skills to solve real-world problems while honing their strategic thinking, leadership, and data and analytics capabilities. Signature programs including the Global Business Experience consulting projects and Executive Challenge provide opportunities to apply classroom lessons in real-world business contexts, ensuring graduates are prepared to make an immediate impact in their careers.

Students have the opportunity to supplement the curriculum with certificates in consumer analytics and insights, global real estate, healthcare, nonmarket strategy, and sustainable business, as well as co-curricular experiences like the Small Business Corps, engagement with a growing list of faculty-led centers, initiatives, and institutes, and leadership roles in over 40 student clubs

Community remains an integral part of the McDonough experience, with a variety of events and social activities designed to build camaraderie among MBA classmates and with the broader Georgetown ecosystem.
